There are a lot of mid level consumers in caves. The main one is the raccoon. Raccoons are everywhere in cave, just like bats. When we were walking through the cave while we were exploring, we came across a ridiculous amount of raccoons. Raccoons like caves because a lot of caves are very dark, wet and cold. When raccoons are not in caves, they only come out during the day. The reason they only come out for the day is because they thrive in the darkness and they do not like light. Raccoons are very creepy looking and they get very territorial. Raccoons do not like being around any people or animals, but other raccoons. Raccoons are very territorial so when you think of going near a raccoon, make sure you think twice about it!
